And it came around so quickly, I swear they only went back to school from Christmas a few weeks before. I dread half terms with both of the boys off school together, both fighting for my attention at the same time. Who shouts the loudest they think wins.... Well not anymore, we set ground rules, for the first time ever.
Then Sunday night get the best text message a mum could ever receive... it was from my mummy wanting to take the eldest grandchild for the week on Tuesday, oh how could I possibly turn down such a great offer, only having to deal with just one of them for the week, it would be great, so the reply, he cant wait he's packing his bag right now was sent.
So Tuesday morning came and Nana came and picked up monkey until the weekend, so just the little one to keep occupied now, which is a challenge in it self. We were waiting in for the chimney people to come and fix our fire, and what a surprise just before they were suppose to be coming they cancelled! Well waiting in for them to come had made little one stressy so time for a nice walk with the dog. As we live in the countryside there are lovely walks all over, so off we went down the lanes, little one holding the dog lead and jumping in every puddle he could find.
Wednesday, it was a horrible wet day, we drove to the local soft play, which was heaving so didn't even attempt to go in and little one was fast asleep in the car, so I quickly nipped into the aldl to get a few bits (daddy was in the car with him) and off home for a boring day.
Thursday the weather was much better we headed off to the beach for the morning. Dog in toe. Patchy doesn't do water at the best of times, but he was running after the waves, but as he's a little one he got wet and didn't want to go back in the sea, just running along on the stones next to me, while little one was walking on the pebbles trying not to slide down the slope. Patchy and little one both fell asleep in the car on the way home, so sea air definitely knocked them both out.
Friday, little one and I went to buy monkey some trainers which he had wanted for ages so we went and got him them, they now have matching trainers even thought they are 5 years apart in age, little one picked them out for him. Then in the afternoon we took patchy for a walk down the lanes again, which involved little one getting drenched by every little bit of water he saw he wanted to jump in! and as the lanes where narrow and windey he had to keep in loads which he didn't like, then he comes across a massive flood in the field, thank god the gate is locked, thinking he is still following me, turn around to see him climbing the gate to the field! No, so quickly run and grab him much to his disappointment and on we go with our walk until his little legs decide he cant walk anymore so we turn back and make our way home, but he still wants to jump in all the puddles!! Nice hot bath soon as we get in, and early tea for in the morning little one will be reunited with his partner in crime monkey!!

Wedding bells
My sister got married on Saturday, Was an amazing day, Her dress was stunning, she looked beautiful. We almost missed the registry office ceremony, we made it just in the nick of time even though we left early so we wouldn't be late, driving down the road we remember we forgot the camera so back we went to get in, and onwards with our journey, when we find out neither of our phones satnavs are working, we only have cheap basic pay as you go ones, but not even google maps would work on it so it was all guess work! well we get to the main roundabout which has 6 exits on! thinking I know where we are going take the second exit, then realise that reading the map it was meant to be the third exit, where we have to drive a good 5 miles before we can turn around to get back to the roundabout, take the right exit, knowing that we will still make it in good time, little one was out for the count so we stop in burger king just to get some drinks and a quick bite to eat while on the road. Then get a text from my mum saying that traffic into town is a nightmare she hopes we make it on time, as entering the town having no idea where we are going decide to ring her, as she just drove there thinking she will be okay at giving directions which was a big no, finally we find it and take our seats! little one just woken up and carrying all his toys he could manage, we thought that would be fine as would keep him quiet as he doesn't do quiet very often he sat through the whole ceremony without shouting out once or running off! And then its photo time, would he put his toys down, NO!! so got lots of pictures with the little one and elephant and car and a dinosaur as you do, cant take them off him he just has a melt down so to keep him happy they are all included in the photos! then its a 10min drive to the main meal, again with no satnav just following the directions we were given we found it! Nice smallish families together for the first time sit down meal, little one decides he doesn't want daddies starter but wants it just after he finishes it! then main meal comes, cut it all up and he pours tomato sauce all over it, yuck! so I wont help him finish that, and well after 2 mouthfuls decides he's had enough so out comes his pudding, and he eats his and his brothers icecream, but he had to put pepper in it he ate it all so cant complain! messing about with all the other little ones with helium balloons all is going fine until he starts getting tired, we've got a 2 hour wait before the night do, so we take a little drive around the town to get him to sleep, after 20 mins his out like a light and sleeps for a good couple of hours!
Night do time, me and my big boy helping put all the decorations up with all the other helpers, and having a giggle playing skittles, waiting for it to start as we arrived early, my big boy stayed with my mum so he was down there already when I turned up. after and hour little one woke up and was happy to have a boogie and eat some dinner with granddad.
Loads more people turned up, but no one was dancing at the disco, so my mum get me and my little sister with my cousin and little one up all dancing, and little one was dancing and playing around from 6pm till gone 11pm when we left, he manage to stay away the whole time, probably cos he ate 5 packs of sweets which didn't help!
Zonked out on the way home as soon as we left the reception, and again as the satnav wasn't working we went 50miles in the wrong direction and had to go back to find our way home and try and follow the way we came but at midnight it was pitch black there was no signs to where we recognised so it was all guess work, 2 hours later we arrive home, both kids totally zonked out fast asleep and hoping as they had such a late night they would have a lie-in...No such luck 7.30 on the dot both wide awake!! now im shattered....

****Lucky dust****
Well every day I enter competitions to try and win all sorts of bits and bobs...
I have only been doing this for a year, I haven't won much compared to some other but I am very pleased to win the little bits I've won.
First thing I won was a knex motorbike, which I gave to my son he was so pleased to play with, won it in fathers day comp, next I won a key ring which was a lovely win as it reminds me of my one I lost, my next and biggest win yet was a cream tea hamper which had 4 lots of different scones, clotted cream, and nice load of short bread! it was delicious they husband manage to scoff most of that. Then didn't have any wins for ages, but just before Christmas I won a home made fudge tray with chocolate bits in which was lovely, and the kids agreed with that who shared most of it between themselves! And my latest win was two week ago was a little penguin charm, now I need to get a charm bracelet to put him on, he is really cute.
Onwards and upwards on to more wins this year, on my list of things to win are a family holiday! furniture of the house, carpet or laminated flooring! and anything else I happen to see and enter.

Pretty darn well please with myself!
Had a few spare moments to myself while I was making dinner, and decided to make some vanilla and toffee fudge for the kids as a treat, and I've got to say that it came out rather well looked like the picture on the internet and went down like a storm with the kids!! It is rather sweet so can only have a tiny bit at a time, but I can see why its so expensive to buy as it quite a fiddle to make!
But I did and im proud of myself!!

What a f**king day....
Wake up at 4.40am to take the hubby to work, spend 20mins turning the house upside down looking for the keys find them, get in the car, get half way up the road to find out iv got a puncher so limp the car into the next village as they have the luxury of street lighting, to spend almost 2 hours trying to get the fucking tyre off the car, and it just wouldn't budge, so ring my mum to come and pick us up take hubby to work and us back home.... back home leave 20mins early to do school run, just so I can get the bus to go and get my car and take it to the garage for them to put a new tyre on. Run the mile up the road to make sure we get the bus on time, and we are running up the road, 10 minutes before its time the bus just drives past, brilliant just fucking brilliant!!!! so after ringing around I get my poor granddad to come and pick us up and he followed me all the way to the garage, got car fixed, feeling fantastic get home into my parking space which is rare as someone else is always parked there, to go and open the front door which completely falls off its hinges hanging on with just one screw at the top, just what I need, so phone call to landlords to put a works order in first she said ok that will be done in the next 5-7 working days, umm, I don't think so some how, I cant even open or shut the bloody thing its just hanging there, so the raise and immediate order to be done today, thank god.
Go to light the fire and find the door wont shut on that, brilliant just what I need right now, so they are coming out on Tuesday!!! Tuesday its gunna be cold week...
Car fixed, door has just been fixed, now just waiting for the fire to be fixed...
What else can go wrong???

buying a new bed
After my eldest monkey has practical broken his high sleeper bed which isn't even 3 years old yet, iv decided to buy him a bog standard metal bed, as we are waiting on delivery, iv decided to start taking the high sleeper down in sections, all going well with the bits he's already broken, but not having a screw driver it's hard going.
Off to buy a screw driver set now...

kids rooms after celebration
Im not the most tidiest person in the world, not by a long shot, but after spending 3 days before Christmas chucking out old toys, making the room perfect, I don't expect it to look like a bomb has hit it after two weeks.
here I go again, clearing it all up and deciding to change it all around so they have a more room to play. after making it look lovely and tidy proud of all the back breaking work I done thinking they would keep it like that. But no... . A month past and looking like a tip again, everything in boxes locked away in the cupboard until they can learn to respect it! But funny thing is he hasn't noticed all his toys are missing...yet...

sunday welly walk
On sunday its just me and the boys so we decided to go on a little walk with the dog, walkimg down the road boys had their wellys on splashing in puddles, then we decided to go through the fields that back on to our house, they were just a bit muddy as it had only just stopped raining so was expecting some mud, but further and further away we got the muddier and deeper it got until we finally reached the cricket field, only to find it totally flooded and so deep even the dog didn't want to cross the stile. So we turned back to go around, as we were going along the mud was getting deeper and deeper, the children had both got their wellys stuck in the mud about 3 times each after that my emu boots started getting stuck until they completely came off! Cherub didnt want to walk so he wanted me to carry him, his trousers plastered in mud all over my hoody I gave up wearing my boots took them off and walk with just my socks on, atleast I could walk, told the boys to do the samebut cherub refused and wanted to be carried the whole way back, after getting to whst I thought was a better bit got met by a ford and there was no way I was going to crossthat hholding cherub in one arm and my boots in the other, so off we wemt in a different direction to get back home, as we don't have a gate into our back garden its a 6foot fence we have to climb, monkey climbed it fine as he always does amd passed him the dog, and then cherubs turn to go over the fence he wasnt having any of it, so off we walked back down a muddy field with cherub on my back to walk back along the road which was flooded to get to our house, atleast the water on the road cleaned my trousers off a bit... next time we go for a walk we will be sticking to the roads!
